You have shown that you love the sport of soccer, and in order to be good at it, you have to keep learning new tricks and helpful advice. While soccer is fun, it does take hard work to be able to do those sweet tricks. This sport is all about teamwork, and here you'll find some tips to start you out.

Make sure that your cleats fit when you buy them. They need to fit snugly and need to support your arches as well. Your cleats should support your ankles while allowing you to move freely. If you don't get the best cleats then you could end up damaging your feet.

You should always look for empty areas so you can pass the ball there. They will have a time advantage and can figure out what to do with the ball. You will also be less likely to turn the ball over.

Pass the ball in one direction several times to start a noticeable pattern. The other team will detect the pattern and organize themselves to try to anticipate it. Then, you can take them by surprise and glean some extra seconds when you either don't cross or cross going the other way.

If you end up at midfield, keep an eye on what transpires on each end of the field. Be ready to be passed the soccer ball from either side and to pass it to the opposite side right away. Be aware of the location of your teammates and defenders on the field.

Try to find ways that you can surprise the opposing team. If you typically do the same plays, other good players will soon be able to predict your moves. If defenders are getting closer, make a pass to the nearest open spot rather than following a pattern.

Practice your dribbling by using a tennis ball. This will require you to constantly be making adjustments to keep control over the ball. When this becomes comfortable, using a regulation soccer ball will seem easy.

Pass the ball in one direction several times to start a noticeable pattern. The other team will think you are going to repeat it over and over again. The element of surprise will be with you when you then change direction without warning.

Soccer doesn't require as much physical contact as football, but it is still a very strenuous game. Don't be scared of bumping into another player. Physical play is not the same thing as playing dirty. Understand that actually aiming to kick an opponent is playing dirty; however, contact alone is not. If getting physical scares you, you must get over it. Wear soccer pads for leg protection.

Stay in excellent cardiovascular condition by running three miles every day. Your cardiovascular system needs to be in shape since you have to run a lot when playing soccer. Endurance can be pumped up by running a few miles a day. Run in numerous location to prevent boredom.

If you know the ground is going to be wet, you need a pair of cleats with a good grip. Many professional soccer players use soft removable cleats to deal with situations like these. Try getting cleats that are wider if you're in a muddy or wet situation. When dealing with this situation both cleats will be on the heels of the shoes and four are in the middle of the sole.
